Ajax football coach Frank de Boer has agreed to extend his contract until the middle of 2017.
The Amsterdam-based club announced Tuesday that De Boer, whose current contract expires in 2014, will now sign a new four-year deal running from July 1, 2013 until June 20, 2017, reports Xinhua.
The 43-year-old former Dutch international started as head coach of Ajax in December 2010. He captured three consecutive Dutch league in the past two-and-a-half years.
"This new contact is exactly what I wanted," De Boer reacted on the website of Ajax. "I like it here and my family is happy here. I also see enough challenges."
