Al Futtaim Ventures selects Wipro as IT partner

Dubai-based Majid Al Futtaim Ventures LLC selected Indian global software major Wipro Ltd as its strategic IT partner for five years, the group company said Tuesday.

"Wipro will implement the enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution and provide managed services, including infrastructure platforms and applications support to our group subsidiary," Al Futtaim said in a statement from Dubai.

Al Futtaim Ventures develops and operates leisure and entertainment facilities at the group's malls, including Ski Dubai and third-party malls across the UAE region.

Wipro will also supply hardware, hosting it and enabling the data centre and disaster recovery on cloud for the venture firm.

"Our IT solutions will improve asset management, operational efficiency, robust back office operations and business continuity of our partner," Wipro business head in the Gulf region Mukund Seetharaman said in the statement.

As part of the ERP implementation, Wipro will set up a finance shared services centre to standardise transactional accounting operations.

"The engagement with Al Futtaim will strengthen our positioning in the Gulf market, which is a key focus area for us in the region," Seetharaman added.
