Alba suffers muscle injury in World Cup qualifier

Barcelona left-back Jordi Alba underwent medical tests after being injured in the Italy-Spain qualifying match for the 2018 football World Cup.

Tests on Friday confirmed he has a slight muscle injury, reports Efe.

Alba was injured 22 minutes into the match on Thursday.

On Friday morning, medical tests confirmed a slight muscle injury that forced him to leave La Roja's training camp. He will not travel to Albania for the qualifying match on Sunday.

The player, who missed Friday morning training session in Italy, is set to return to Barcelona.
