All matches on the ninth day of the French Open were canceled due to persistent rain.
It has been 16 years since a whole day of play washed out at Roland Garros on Monday, where the last total washout was May 30, 2000, reports Xinhua.
Organisers of the clay-court Grand Slam tournament said the matches would be rescheduled for Tuesday, and Monday's ticket holders can apply for refunds but will not be permitted Tuesday entry with tickets dated May 30.
Men's singles World No.1 Novak Djokovic was initially scheduled to play against 14th seed Roberto Bautista Agut in men's singles last 16 on Monday, when defending champion Serena Williams was to face 18th-seeded Elina Svitolina.
Both matches were postponed to Tuesday with part of singles quarterfinal schedule to follow up.
