Alstom India and NASL have won a contract worth 13 million euro (Rs.107.4 crore) from NTPC to renovate and modernise the state-run power generator's thermal plant in Talcher, Odisha.
"Alstom and NASL have been awarded a contract worth approximately euro 13 million (Rs.107.4 crore) by NTPC for the renovation and modernisation of electrostatic precipitators at four units of the 4x500 MW Talcher Super Thermal Power Plant in Odisha," Alstom said in a statement Tuesday.
NASL is a joint venture company between NTPC and Alstom.
The upgradation is designed to reduce particulate emissions from the plant, scheduled to be commissioned in 2018, the statement said.
Alstom had earlier executed similar contracts for NTPC's Tanda 4x110 MW plant in Uttar Pradesh.
