A statue of Dalit icon B.R. Ambedkar was found partially damaged in Haily Mandi area near Pataudi, around 28 km from Gurugram city on Tuesday, police said.
The bust of the principal architect of India's constitution, popularly known as Baba Saheb, was installed in the premises of Ambedkar Bhawan in the area.
"Someone pushed it from its base and it was partially damaged as a result," said an activist from Ambedkar Sabha.
Senior police officers and Pataudi's Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Ravinder Yadav visited the spot and the statue was re-installed.
The officials also assured all possible help to the community and said that a new statue will be installed soon.
The police has registered a case on a complaint against unidentified persons.
