Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah on Sunday had a 'darshan' of the famed Lalbaug-cha Raja Ganapati idol in central Mumbai's Parel-Lalbaug area.

He was accompanied by Maharashtra BJP President Raosaheb Patil-Danve, Mumbai BJP chief Ashish Shelar and several state cabinet ministers.

Arriving at the Lalbaug-cha Raja marquee, Shah prayed before the 18 feet tall iconic idol of the elephant-headed god, Lord Ganesha.

He also visited another Ganeshotsav celebration organised by Shelar at a public marquee in Bandra where a replica of the Shri Saibaba Temple of Shirdi had been created.
