BJP National President Amit Shah on Thursday held a road show here, with thousands of party supporters dancing to 'dhol' beats and asking for votes as the campaigning for the sixth phase of assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh came to an end.
The streets of the city were decorated with BJP flags and balloons. Shah stood in an open car with the party supporters. A huge crowd followed the BJP President shouting slogans like "Modi Zindabad".
Gorakhpur, which will vote with 48 other constituencies spread over seven districts of the state, will go to the polls on Saturday.
Earlier in the day, addressing a public rally here, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of not fulfilling any of his promises made during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
