Anil Dhirubhai Ambani, chairman, Reliance Group, Monday called on Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhara Rao here and evinced interest in investing in the newly-created state, said officials.

The top industrialist assured the chief minister that he will contribute in the state government's mission to rebuild Telangana.

Ambani expressed his willingness to invest in electricity generation, infrastructure, industrialisation and media sectors, said a statement from the chief minister's office.

This was the first meeting by any key industrialist with Rao since he took over as the first chief minister of Telangana last month.

Ambani congratulated Rao and noted that like his late father Dhirubhai Ambani who came up in life with his struggle, he (Rao) also fought to achieve his goal of Telangana state.

KCR, as the chief minister is popularly known, thanked Ambani and told him that his government is in the process of working out a comprehensive plan for the all-round development of Telangana.

Rao said an industrial policy was being evolved and he would be looking forward for another meeting with him to chalk out an action plan for mutual cooperation.

Information Technology Minister K. Tarakarama Rao and chief secretary Rajiv Sharma were also present during the meeting.
