The parts of the compound wall that fell down due to heavy rain at the Arignar Anna Zoological Park, popularly known as Vandalur Zoo, near here have been safely secured and all the animals are safe, a top official said on Wednesday.
"Only some portions of the outer compound wall broke down due to rains. Those spots have been secured and there is no fear of any animal escaping out," K.S.S.V.P.Reddy, director, told IANS.
According to Reddy, the animal enclosures are not damaged and surplus water is being drained out.
The compound wall broke down on Tuesday.
Reddy said the animals were being fed properly despite the downpour.
