The army said on Wednesday that it has ordered a probe into the disappearance of three civilians in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district in which a territorial army soldier is allegedly involved.
Lieutenant General S.K. Dua, commander of Srinagar-based 15th Corps, told reporters that the army has ordered an inquiry into the disappearance of the three men.
Three locals from Kupwara district - Ghulam Hussain Khatana, 45, Ali Muhammad, 40, and Ghulam Jeelani Khatana, 42 - are missing after a territory army soldier identified as Manzoor Ahmad allegedly took them away from their homes in November.
The territorial army soldier has since been arrested by the police.
"We have ordered an inquiry into the case and if the role of army is established, action will follow," the corps commander said.
