Sishir Dutta, a senior advocate of the Gauhati High Court, was on Wednesday appointed as the new advocate general of Arunachal Pradesh by Governor J.P. Rajkhowa, a Raj Bhavan official said.
Rajkhowa also appointed Anil Srivastav as the additional advocate general-cum-standing counsel for Arunachal Pradesh in the Supreme Court.
Srivastav will represent the state in appeals, reviews, revisions and miscellaneous cases before the Supreme Court and the Gauhati High Court.
Rajkhowa on Monday terminated the services of advocate general Ranji Thomas and additional advocate general R.H. Nabam.
President Pranab Mukherjee on January 26 approved the union cabinet's recommendation to impose central rule in Arunachal Pradesh and keep the assembly in suspended animation.
