At 2,557, dengue spreading in Delhi

Dengue has seen a steep rise in the capital with the number of cases reaching 2,557 Thursday.

On Monday, there were 2,124 case but in three days' time, the figure has shot up to 2,557.

"Of these, 2,522 cases are from Delhi and 35 from the adjoining states," said municipal health officer N.K. Yadav.

However, no new deaths due to the disease have been reported. Till date, there have been three confirmed deaths and seven suspected deaths from the vector-borne disease.

The north corporation has the maximum cases (1,205) while south and east corporations have reported 653 and 565 cases, respectively.
