Atletico Madrid announced on Monday the contract extension of French defender Lucas Hernandez for one more football season, until 2020, after he played 16 games with the first team last term.
Hernandez, 20, played last season 10 Liga games, four in the Champions League, among which two were in the quarter-finals against Barcelona, and two matches in the Copa del Rey, besides participating with the youth team in the UEFA Youth League, reports Efe.
The Frenchman, who had a contract until 2019, extended his commitment with the Atletico for another year, until June 30, 2020.
This comes less than a week after his brother Theo was renewed for five years with the Rojiblancos and was loaned to Deportivo Alaves.
