Atletico's Gameiro confident ahead of Madrid derby

Atletico Madrid forward Kevin Gameiro said on Friday that his team was doing well and feeling ready to play the La Liga football derby on Saturday against Real Madrid, noting the enthusiasm of the Rojiblancos.

"We are doing well and are ready. We are eager to play this match so we can win it," said the French forward in an interview published on the club's website on Saturday.

"It's really thrilling for me and the truth is that I'm looking forward to playing this match, because everyone wants to play this type of games and it's going to be a great night at the Calderón (stadium)," added Gameiro.

The French striker said he has a good relationship with his compatriot Antoine Griezmann on and off the field and added that playing with him was very easy, reports Efe.

Gameiro noted that he had adapted quickly to Atletico despite the difficulties usually associated to adapting to a new club.
