"Austin Powers" actor Verne Troyer, who played "Mini-me" in the film, was rushed to the hospital for a reported poisoning.
He was taken to the hospital on Monday night.
According to Los Angeles City Fire Department, they received a call from the actor's home in North Hollywood at night, reports tmz.com.
Police could not confirm Troyer's identity and the nature of the alleged poisoning due to privacy laws. However, an official revealed that one person was transported to the hospital.
A friend of the actor made the call. The friend reportedly told the police that Troyer was "extremely upset, drunk and suicidal".
It was reported that a 72-hour psychiatric evaluation was done and the 49-year-old actor was placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold.
A representative for Troyer took to Instagram to deliver the news as well as ask for prayers.
"Asking you to keep Verne in your thoughts and prayers. He's getting the best care possible and is resting comfortably. Appreciate the support from family, friends, and fans around the world. We will keep you updated here," said the representative.
This news comes after Troyer, who has been battling alcoholism, was admitted to the hospital for the issue a year ago. He also checked into a rehabilitation treatment program.
