Australian cricket captain Jodie Fields and Sarah Coyte have been ruled out of the remainder of the Women's Ashes against England due to injury.
Fields has not played since she fractured the distal phalanx joint in her finger during a fielding drill at training prior to the first One-Day International (ODI) here Jan 19. Coyte also missed the three ODIs after straining her quadricep during the Test match which ended Jan 13 in Perth.
"Jodie and Sarah have both been ruled out for the remainder of the series to avoid re-aggravation or worsening of their respective injuries," the team's physiotherapist Megan Roy said Friday.
The two will remain with the squad until the conclusion of the series i.e. Feb 2 when they play the third and final Twenty20 International at Sydney.
Vice-captain Meg Lanning is leading the team in place of Fields with Alex Blackwell as vice-captain.
