An Australian student was raped by a tour guide in Sri lanka's Ambalagonda town, a media report here said.
The student, who was on a study tour to the island nation, complained to police that she was raped by a tour guide under a solitary rock in the beach, according to a report in colombopage.com Sunday.
The girl arrived in the country as part of a group of 15 Australian students to conduct some studies, the report said.
She would be subjected to a medical test, authorities said.
According to police, the suspect has fled the area and investigations are underway to arrest him.
