Police in Ghaziabad on Tuesday announced the arrest of five auto thieves and said they had recovered 19 stolen two-wheelers.
The arrests follow the interrogation of two suspects who revealed that they were part of a gang which stole motor vehicles.
The gang members were identified as Ravi Kumar and Vikky Thakur of Meerut, Rodass Gabhana of Aligarh as well as Ankur Ali and Kuldeep of Hapur.
The police recovered 19 two-wheelers and seized two pistols. The gang revealed that they used to sell the stolen vehicles outside Uttar Pradesh.
A court has sent them to judicial custody, said police Inspector Pawan Kumar Tripathi.
