A 32-year-old businessman, who recently suffered losses in his enterprise, on Friday attempted to commit suicide by jumping before a Delhi Metro train, a police officer said.
At about 1 p.m. Sanant Goel, a resident of Panchkula near Chandigarh, jumped before a Metro train in west Delhi's Tikri Kalan station.
Goel said he had been depressed for some days over his business suffering heavy losses. He had come to Delhi to meet his sister.
"He suffered injury in the right leg and is undergoing treatment in Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital," said Delhi Police Additional PRO, Anil Mittal.
