Barcelona president Joan Laporta on Thursday mourned the death of Dutch football legend Johan Cruyff.
"My condolences to the family and friends of Johan. My benchmark. My teacher. My friend. I love you, Johan," Laporta tweeted.
Laporta and Cruyff met years ago and struck up a strong friendship, which led to the former to act as one of the latter's lawyers, reports Efe.
Cruyff scored 290 league goals in a club career spanning 20 years and also netted 33 times in 48 appearances for the Netherlands.
The Dutchman, an icon of Barcelona and Ajax, who won the Ballon d'Or three times in his career, led Holland to the World Cup final in 1974.
As a manager, he spent eight years in charge of Barcelona.
