Barcelona have submitted a 6,000,000 euro bid for Sao Paulo defender Douglas, media reports said.
The 24-year-old is seen as a candidate to fill the right-back spot of compatriot Daniel Alves, who the Blaugrana want to sell, Xinhua cited from the Terra news portal.
Douglas has made 131 first-team appearances for Sao Paulo since arriving from Goias in 2012.
According to the portal, Sao Paulo are eager to raise cash to meet their hefty wage bill.
The club's squad includes former Brazil players Kaka, Alexandre Pato, Luis Fabiano, Paulo Henrique Ganso and Rogerio Ceni.
Barcelona currently have three Brazilians in their squad: Adriano, Neymar and Alves.
