Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Sanjay Jagdale will be part of the three-member commission to investigate the spot-fixing scandal in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The BCCI said Tuesday that the commission will be looking into the allegations against Gurunath Meiyappan, Chennai Super Kings owners India Cements Ltd. and Jaipur IPL Pvt. Ltd, the owners of Rajasthan Royals.
The three-member panel also includes T. Jayaram Chouta, former judge of the Karnataka and Tamil Nadu High Courts and R. Balasubramanian, former judge of the Tamil Nadu High Court, the BCCI said in a statement.
The commission will be initiating the adjudication proceedings at the earliest.
While setting up the commission, BCCI president N. Srinivasan said that he will have no role in setting up or working of the panel and also assured a fair investigation.
Srinivasan has been criticised for his refusal to step aside after his son-in-law Gururnath, who was also the chief executive of Super Kings was arrested by Mumbai police for his alleged links in the spot-fixing scandal.
The spot-fixing scandal came to light with the arrest of three Rajasthan Royals cricketers -- Ankeet Chavan, Ajit Chandila and S. Sreesanth.
