Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has directed district collectors to be on alert in view of heavy rains likely to lash the state under the impact of cyclonic storm Hudhud, which is set to hit the coast of neighboring Andhra Pradesh Sunday.
The chief minister asked the collectors of all 10 districts to take all necessary precautionary measures and monitor the situation closely.
According to a statement from the chief minister's office, the met office has forecast heavy to very heavy rains in Telangana, especially in northern districts of the state.
The chief minister asked disaster management official B.R. Meena to keep a close watch on the situation.
