A group of bears was Friday found trapped inside an empty water tank in a Kashmir village and wildlife protection officials rushed to the spot to rescue them.
A family of five wild bears, including a mother bear and four of her cubs, was Friday morning found trapped inside a water tank in an orchard in Haripora village, Ganderbal district, 30 km from Srinagar.
"After we rescue the bears safely, they will be released in their natural habitat in the Dachigam wildlife park in Srinagar," an official told IANS.
Locals said the bears could have fallen into the 10-feet-deep water tank in the night.
"The mother bear must have jumped to rescue her cubs after they fell into the tank," said an official of the wildlife department.
