Actor Ben Affleck is teaming with comic book writer Geoff Johns to co-write, direct and star in a standalone "Batman" movie.
Additional details are still under wraps other than the fact that Affleck will return to his role of the Caped Crusader, which he will first assume in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and then in "Justice League".
Warner Bros has not commented on the news yet.
Given how much time and effort goes into directing, it might be a long while before Affleck thinks of writing. He's currently focused on directing "Live by Night", based on Dennis Dennis Lehane's Prohibition-era crime novel, off the ground, reports hollywoodreporter.com.
Affleck is expected to be promoting "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" this weekend at Comic-Con in San Diego.
