A hostel warden of a school in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas has been arrested after he hit a 12-year-old boy on the head with a cricket bat, the police said on Saturday.
While the incident at the North Point Senior Secondary School in Rajarhat happened on Nov 30, a police complaint was filed only on Friday when the parents of the boy came to know about it.
"On the basis of a complaint that 12-year-old Mohammad Sahin Mondal was hit on the head by a bat, we have arrested the warden Debjyoti Das," said a police officer.
According to the complaint, Das attacked Sahin with a bat because the boy failed to answer some questions. The boy's family also said the school tried to hush up the matter. The school has since suspended Das.
