The Basketball Federation of India (BFI) for the first time will be hosting the international basketball federation (FIBA) technical commission meeting here Jan 21-22.
FIBA technical commission chairman Fred Horgan and FIBA sports director Lubomir Kotleba will be attending the meeting along with other dignitaries to discuss and deliberate on governance of referees and commissioners, internal regulations, licensing of referees and commissioners as of 2016, psychological testing of referees, new teaching methods and materials and code of ethics.
"We wish to extend a warm welcome to all our guests from FIBA. We would also like to thank FIBA for reposing its faith in India as one of the fastest growing basketball playing nations and giving BFI the opportunity to host this magnificent event," BFI chief executive Roopam Harish Sharma said Monday.
