BHEL's revenue down

Power equipment major Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has closed the first quarter of the current fiscal with lower revenue and after-tax profit.

In a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange Tuesday, BHEL said it has posted a net profit of around Rs.193.50 crore for the quarter ended June 30, down from Rs.465.43 crore posted during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.

The company's total income has come down to Rs.5,502.76 crore last quarter as compared to Rs.6,996.60 crore earned during the first quarter of 2013-14.

The company's order book position stands at Rs.97,400 crore at the end of first quarter.
