BJP workers on Sunday performed 'bhoomi poojan' at the venue here where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet and talk to beneficiaries of various public welfare schemes on July 7.
Amid the chanting of hymns, the religious ceremony was attended by state BJP President Madan Lal Saini and his predecessor Ashok Parnami, Ministers Arun Chaturvedi, Rajendra Rathore and Yunus Khan.
Saini later told the media that the schemes could not be implemented during the earlier Congress rule and died a silent death on papers.
However, he claimed, under the Bharatiya Janata Party government crores of people had benefitted under various public welfare schemes.
On July 7, around two lakh such beneficiaries have been invited to converse with Modi.
