BJP confident of winning Karnataka again: Gowda

The BJP is confident of returning to power in Karnataka, Law Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda said on Friday.

In an interview to ETV, Gowda, a former chief minister of Karnataka, said it's "quite evident" that the Bharatiya Janata Party would come back to power in the state.

"It's quite evident. More than 525 farmers have committed suicide in six months in Karnataka and the state government has not taken any steps, any initiative, to give a moral boost to the farmers not to do such thing. No compensation is given to them," he said.

"Now, the people (of Karnataka) are thinking that they have elected a wrong party. Due to earlier divisions in the BJP and other issues, the voters switched to the Congress. Now the people feel that the BJP in Karnataka has taken up the farmers' issues. We're touring across the state," Gowda added.

The law minister said the BJP was drawing huge crowds in its rallies in the state.

"Huge gathering are there during our rallies... Even in the recent corporation election in Bengaluru, BJP won 100 of the 198 seats. People feel that the BJP is the right party that can serve the people and can give good governance," he added.
