A BJP delegation on Wednesday met Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu and demanded that a report should be sought from the West Bengal government and action taken for attack on its President Amit Shah during his roadshow in Kolkata on Tuesday.
The delegation comprising of Union Ministers Prakash Javadekar, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Vijay Goel and Rajya Sabha member Rakesh Sinha submitted a memorandum to Naidu, who is also Chairman of the upper house of parliament.
"The incident that took place yesterday during Amit Shah's roadshow is very serious. He was attacked but survived due to CRPF's presence. Protection of Rajya Sabha members is responsibility of the house and the Chairman," Javadekar told reporters after the meeting.
