BJP on Monday denied the charges levelled by AAP that its president Amit Shah had met AIMIM chief Akbaruddin Owaisi to discuss division of minority votes in Bihar elections and challenged the party to prove it.

"The charges levelled by AAP about alleged meeting of Shah as Owaisi are baseless and far from truth. This is a tactic of AAP to divert the attention of the people from corruption charges of Delhi government ministers and officials," BJP national secretary Srikant Sharma said in a statement.

"Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal can go to any extent to score his political goals," he alleged.

Sharma also sought prove from Kejriwal of the alleged meeting of Shah and Owaisi.

"Kejriwal must give the details of the alleged meet. When and where did the meeting took place.

He also suggested the Delhi Chief Minister to concentrate on work for the welfare of citizens of Delhi rather indulging in politics of baseless allegations.

Former Gujarat BJP MLA Yatin Oza, who was once close to Amit Shah, has alleged that Shah had a secret pact with Owaisi, the younger brother of AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi.

Oza, who told reporters here after Kejriwal's two-day Gujarat visit that he was joining the AAP, said in his July 4 letter to Kejriwal that Shah had a secret meeting at his residence on September 15 last year with Owaisi.

AAP leader Sanjay Singh termed the revelations made by Oza as "shocking" and demanded clarification from BJP on the issue.
