The shutdown called by the BJP and RSS in Kerala Tuesday to protest against the killing of a RSS worker in Kannur affected normal life as vehicles stayed off the roads.

Barring two-wheelers and a few private vehicles, government and private buses did not venture out fearing attacks by protestors.

A few transport buses were stoned by the protestors at some places, forcing the bus operators to call off the service.

Those who arrived at railway stations in the state found themselves stranded as they could not get any public vehicles.

A Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) worker was killed Monday in Kannur. The shutdown has been called to protest against the incident.
