The Delhi unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday staged a protest against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal outside the secretariat for his "support towards the black money holders".

The protesting workers were detained by police as they raised slogans against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor.

Attacking Kejriwal, Delhi BJP unit president Satish Upadhyay told the media: "It is sad that when Delhi government should have extended support to people standing in lines we find Kejriwal extending support to people with black money."

Upadhyay said the issue of problems being faced by people in queues is an emotional one being used by Kejriwal to extend indirect support to black money holders.

The protest came a day after Kejriwal questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi's decision to demonetise Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes.

Kejriwal also attacked Modi over the currency spike, saying it caused problems for the common man.

Kejriwal called the November 8 demonetisation a poorly planned exercise. He asked the government to stop being adamant and withdraw it immediately.
