At least three people were injured in bomb explosions on Tuesday at an election rally of Bangladesh's largest opposition party in Rajshahi city, police said.

A police official told Xinhua news agency that three crude bombs exploded during the rally of former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia's Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) in Rajshahi city at 10 a.m. (local time), injuring three people including a journalist and a party leader.

BNP staged the rally to drum up support for its candidates in the Rajshahi City Corporation Elections slated for July 30.
