Ajax and Manchester United have reached a deal for the transfer of Daley Blind to the latter, Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf and national broadcaster NOS reported Saturday.
According to the reports, United will pay around 18-20 million euros for the Dutch international. Only the last details of the deal have to be completed and after the medical examination Blind will sign a contract of 4-5 years, reports Xinhua.
The son of Danny Blind, former Dutch international and current assistant coach of the national team, had a contract until mid-2016 in Amsterdam.
Blind will miss Ajax training Saturday and is no longer part of the squad for Sunday's match against FC Groningen. Last Sunday he played his last match for Ajax against PSV (1-3 loss).
The 24-year-old made his debut for Ajax in 2008 and played a total of 102 league matches for the first team. In the second half of the 2009-10 season he was active in 17 matches on loan for FC Groningen and only became a regular starter in the last two seasons.
The 19 times international played all matches for the Netherlands at the 2014 World Cup. In Manchester he will be reunited with former Dutch head coach Louis van Gaal, now in charge of United.
