Britain-based global robotic process automation specialist Blue Prism on Wednesday announced the appointment of Peter Gartenberg as the company's Managing Director and President, Indian subcontinent.
Gartenberg, who was leading Microsoft India's enterprise business till April this year, joins Blue Prism with over 30 years' industry experience that started with IBM in San Francisco, California.
Prior to Microsoft, Gartenberg was Managing Director and President, SAP Indian subcontinent and before SAP, he led the Asia-Pacific operations of Siemens' enterprise telecommunications business as its Chairman, Managing Director and Executive Vice President.
Before coming to India, he held executive roles with Siemens in China, Europe and the US.
In his new role at Blue Prism, Gartenberg will be responsible for consolidating the company's position among India-based Global Inhouse Centres (GICs), Indian enterprises and the India based Global System Integrators.
"India is emerging as a global knowledge and talent centre for Blue Prism's intelligent robotic process automation (RPA) offering and we are delighted to have a proven leader in Peter to accelerate our growth in India," said Mike Cawsey, Senior Vice President and General Manager Asia Pacific, Blue Prism.
"In this next phase, Peter and his growing India team will educate the market about Blue Prism's Intelligent Automation capabilities and how to best leverage this technology into customers' and partners' digital transformation strategies," Cawsey added.
Blue Prism's software platform helps business operations through rapid automation of manual, rules based, back office administrative processes, reducing cost and improving accuracy by creating what it calls "digital workforce".
Since commencing operations in India in 2017, Blue Prism's RPA platform has seen strong momentum with many multinational GICs, Indian enterprises and India-based Global System Integrators.
"I am excited to join the global leader in intelligent automation. Indian enterprises are some of the world's most innovative in terms of next generation technology adoption. Almost all Indian enterprises are focused on digital transformation and intelligent automation is a core technology in those digital initiatives," Gartenberg said on his appointment.
"Blue Prism has fantastic momentum in the Indian market. I'm looking forward to working with our partners and the Blue Prism global organization to accelerate that momentum," he added.
