Police on Friday sent for post-mortem a woman's body that was dug out from a grave here, triggering protests.
The body was of a 26-year-old who died during delivery. It was found in Talheta village in Ghaziabad district by a village woman.
Villagers alleged that some mischievous elements were behind the sacrilege and staged a noisy protest.
"We have sent the body for post-mortem... It might be an act by some mischievous elements to disturb the peace," Superintendent of Police R.K. Pandey said.
"Police are trying to nab the culprits," he added.
