The body of a Christian priest who was found dead under mysterious circumstances on Scotland on June 25 arrived here on Thursday.
The body of Martin Xavier was received at the airport by his family and Church leaders. It was later taken to his hometown in Alappuzha. His funeral will be held on Friday.
Xavier belonged to the CMI congregation of the Catholic Church and was ordained a priest in 2013. Since July 2016, he was in Scotland to pursue his PhD. He was also the parish priest of the St. Francis Xavier's Church in Scotland.
He went missing in June. On June 25, his body was found on the Edinburgh seashore.
