In view of the heavy rush of devotees in the temple town of Ayodhya, the timing for 'darshan at the makeshift temple housing Ram Lalla idol has been extended, an official said on Wednesday.
On account of the ongoing Shrawan Jhoola Mela, there has been a surge in the number of devotees turning up at Ayodhya, which necessitated the new arrangement, an official told IANS.
Additional District Magistrate (Law and Order) Anil Kumar said that earlier the timings to visit the makeshift temple were 7.00 a.m to 11.00 a.m and 2.00 p.m to 6.00 p.m. This now has been changed to 7.00 am to 12.00 noon and 1.00 p.m to 6.00 p.m.
The new hours for 'darshan' would be in force from Friday to Sunday, the official said and added that the temple would remain closed on August 7 owing to a lunar eclipse.
