Actor Brad Pitt is set to star as General Stanley McChrystal, former commanding general of international and US forces in Afghanistan, in "The Operators".
To be co-produced by Pitt's Plan B along with New Regency and Brett Ratner's RatPac Entertainment, the film is a real life story based on journalist Michael Hasting's 2012 book "The Operators: The Wild and Terrifying Inside Story of America's War in Afghanistan", which he wrote after researching and following the general for his award-winning Rolling Stone article "The Runaway General", reports contactmusic.com.
Australian filmmaker David Michod will write and direct the movie.
