Brazil coach Dunga has called up uncapped Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred for friendlies against Turkey and Austria later this month.
The 21-year-old replaces Spartak Moscow's Romulo, who was cut due to a calf injury, Xinhua quoted Brazil's football federation (CBF) as saying on its official website.
Brazil will play Turkey in Istanbul on November 12 and Austria in Vienna seven days later.
Fred is the third Shakhtar player in Dunga's squad, joining forwards Douglas Costa and Luiz Adriano.
Only Europe-based players have been selected for the matches after the CBF agreed not to handicap local clubs in the final weeks of Brazil's domestic season.
