Maputo (Mozambique) No one in the Mozambican capital city Maputo is expected to miss the 2014 World Cup, kicking off in Brazil Thursday, a guarantee issued by the Brazil-Mozambique Cultural Centre.
There will be three screens the centre is preparing to position in different corners of its building, located in a strategic area of the city, two of them of free access to interested people and football fans, reports Xinhua.
The centre is expecting more than 300 people in its rooms to celebrate the opening of the World Cup and for the first phase they will display every match Brazil will play.
"There will be three different environments, in two of them we will screen the event and in the third there will be a television only. There will be a lot of drums, a relaxed environment, the characteristic of Brazilian people who are known for loving football and this is what we want to express," said Leandro Estrela, the centre's director.
For Thursday, the centre erected a temporary wall within its building, where all participants will be allowed to leave their messages.
Mozambique's official participation in the World Cup is through the reinforcement of security, following a request issued by Brazil for a contingent of police officers to help assure the event is held in a peaceful environment.
