The government on Sunday said a bridge in Maharashtra has been built in a record 165 days.
It will be opened to the public on Monday by Union Road Transport, Highway and Shipping Minister Nitin Gadkari and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
The bridge -- across Savitri river near Mahad -- was built as an old masonry arch bridge constructed in 1928 nearby had collapsed due to heavy rain on August 2 last year.
"The project was speedily executed in a record 165 days before the onset of monsoon at a cost of Rs 35.77 crore," an official statement said.
The new bridge, made of anti-corrosive steel, is 16 metres wide and 239 metres long and is fitted with flood alarm system.
