BSES Rajdhani Power Ltd (BPRL), one of the national capital's electricity distribution companies (discoms), said on Wednesday that its consumers will now be able to pay their bills at various branches of Bank of Baroda (BoB) across the city.
"BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL) has partnered with Bank of Baroda, a leading public sector bank, to facilitate payment of electricity bills at its nearly 200 conveniently located branches across Delhi and NCR," the discom said in a release here.
"With IT integration between the entities, BRPL consumers' electricity bills will be validated online and payments accepted.
"Consumers will be able to pay their electricity bills at BoB branches through cash (up to Rs 4,000), cheques and demand frafts. BoB account holders will also be able to pay by way of fund transfers," it added.
Announcing that the consumer's account will be updated on the same day as the payment, BSES said the arrangement will soon be extended to its sister Delhi discom BSES Yamuna Power Ltd.
"This is the second such initiative undertaken by BRPL. Earlier, the company had entered into a similar arrangement with IDBI Bank.A Soon this partnership with BoB will also be extended to BSES Yamuna Power Limited (BYPL)," the statement said.
