A Border Security Force (BSF) trooper was injured in Pakistan firing on the international border in Jammu district on Wednesday.
"Pakistan Rangers started unprovoked firing at Molu post of the BSF in Akhnoor sector today (Wednesday) morning," a senior police officer told IANS here.
"One BSF trooper was injured in the firing which started at 8.55 a.m."
"BSF has retaliated using small arms and automatics," he added.
"Heavy firing exchanges are still going on between India and Pakistan troops on two border posts in Akhnoor sector."
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Jammu on Friday.
It has become almost customary for Pakistan troops to violate the bilateral ceasefire on the line of control (LoC) and the international border in Jammu and Kashmir each time a VVIP from the central government visits the state.
