Actor Allu-Arjun starrer Telugu actioner "Race Gurram", which released Friday in cinemas, has minted Rs.6.3 crore on its opening day in Andhra Pradesh. It is expected to rake in over Rs.15 crore in the opening weekend, predicts a trade pundit.

"Race Gurram" was reportedly made on a Rs.52 crore budget.

"The film has collected Rs.6.3 crore on its first day in the state. At this rate, it is likely to mint over Rs.15 crore in the opening weekend worldwide," trade analyst Trinath told IANS.

Trinath said "Race Gurram" is a great follow-up to the recent Telugu blockbuster "Legend".

"The summer started on a good note for Telugu filmdom with 'Legend', which has been followed up by 'Race Gurram', which is also turning out to be a hit. The business of these films will predict the roadmap for other big summer releases," he added.
