A private bus run by a transport company owned by Punjab's ruling Badal family ran over two persons near Ludhiana on Thursday. The bus was set on fire by angry locals.
The victims, a father and son, were riding on their motorcycle when the bus of Orbit Aviation company, owned by Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal's family members, ran over them near Mullanpur on the Ludhiana-Ferozepur highway.
The victims died on the spot.
Local residents vandalised the bus and set it on fire.
Eyewitnesses and passengers on the bus told the police that the driver was speeding when the accident happened.
The police have registered a case against the bus driver.
