The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission on allowances, with 34 modifications.
"The cabinet has approved the recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission on allowances with 34 modifications. It will be effective from July 1, 2017," Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley told reporters after a meeting of the Union Cabinet.
The cabinet meeting was presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
